didn’t expect them to have this much... I found the spices I actually needed and then a few blends I never see at my usual store. Super easy to look around, and the variety is great. I’ll probably be back once I run low

I had a bunch of questions about different spices because, it can get a little overwhelming, right? The staff were super patient and actually knew what they were talking about, which made me feel way more confident about what to buy.

I grabbed a few blends from Oaktown Spice Shop they’re way more interesting than the same handful of spice mixes you see everywhere. Not in a fussy way, though, I’m still just tossing them on regular weeknight dinners, usually while trying to unload the dishwasher and remember if I bought cilantro or just thought about buying cilantro. The berbere has been getting used a ton, and the umami sea salt has basically moved to the front of my cabinet. I’ve put it on eggs, roasted veggies, popcorn, whatever was in front of me. You can really tell someone actually put thought into these blends instead of just throwing together garlic powder and something vaguely smoky. Really happy I ordered them...

I’ll be honest, when I opened the order I was happy, the spices smelled fresh and the quality seemed really good. I was like, okay, this was worth it. Then I remembered what I paid and suddenly my mood changed a little. They’re nice, for sure, but they do feel kind of pricey for the amount you get. I’d probably buy again if there’s a sale, but I don’t think this would be an everyday restock for me.

I ordered online and just swung by to pick up my spices... no hassle at all. Super quick and easy.

I’ve ordered spice blends from a few different places before, and these were definitely on the fresher, stronger-tasting side. The flavors came through really well in my cooking. One of the jars was a little clumpy when it arrived, which was kind of annoying, but it still tasted good and was easy enough to break up. Overall, I’m happy with them and would buy again.

These spices have way more kick than the ones I usually grab at the grocery store. The flavor is really strong, so I had to use a bit less than normal, but that’s not a big deal. I’d rather have something with too much flavor than not enough.

The packaging was just okay, honestly. It did the job, but it felt like not much care was put into it, which is kind of disappointing. If a company is sending something to a customer, I think it’s only right to make sure it arrives looking properly protected and thoughtfully packed

What bothered me more was how little communication there was — I kept having to check for updates myself, which was annoying and felt like more effort than it should’ve been. I really like how easy Oaktown Spice Shop makes it to check ingredients and allergen stuff. I’m gluten free and avoid a few additives too, so not having to guess is a Big deal. the dietary notes are clear enough that I can just shop without sending an email first. makes ordering spices way less annoying.

I found what I needed quickly, and checkout didn’t give me any trouble at all. The pages loaded fine, no annoying popups, no weird menus to figure out. it only took a few minutes. Then suddenly I was like, wait, that’s it? Nice.

I’ve ordered from Oaktown Spice Shop maybe 3 or 4 times now, and I’ve been happy each time. The thing I appreciate most is that they actually share where the spices come from, so it feels like someone put thought into it instead of just scooping from some giant bulk bin. The cumin and cardamom especially seemed really fresh, like noticeably more fragrant than the stuff I usually grab at the grocery store. Shipping took about the time I expected, nothing weird or stressful. I’ll definitely keep ordering from them...
